This small, nurturing class, will provide children who are ready to begin an early learning experience, with a safe, warm, engaging and preparatory environment that has been created just for them.
Our LDS Preschool Prep class follows the same philosophy as all of our other classes. Students of every age should be engaged, excited, and enriched every day they attend our program. We incorporate our enrichment philosophy and scaffolding approach to learning with the exciting Buttercups® Curriculum to provide our Preschool Prep students with an exceptional first early learning experience. As quoted by the creators of Buttercups®, “Research shows that children learn by doing, and they need many opportunities to explore and grow. Activities that align with best practices can foster creativity, as well as promote emotional, cognitive, social/emotional, and physical development.”
So many exciting things begin to happen to a child between 18 and 30 months. We want to be a part of that exciting transition as they leave the baby years behind and become energetic, creative, knowledge-seeking toddlers! Once a child reaches the 18-month milestone, they begin to become excited about books, grasp language, are open to exploration and creative play, and begin to understand how they fit into the world and the world around them. When our children are ready to begin this exciting time of learning and discovery, we are happy that The London Day School Experience will be part of that journey.
Our class is purposely kept small so that our littlest learners can build a strong, nurturing and trusting relationship with their teachers and have the attention they need to become comfortable and happy in what might be their first experience in a school setting. We believe that a child’s first school experience will shape the way they feel about education for the rest of their academic life and we take the responsibility very seriously. A wonderful, safe, warm, nurturing, engaging and exciting early learning experience is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and happy journey at The London Day School and beyond.
