A Message From Our Head of School – Jeannina Manias
I’m excited to welcome all our new and prospective families to The London Day School.
I have been involved with LDS since 2010 when I searched and found the right place to send my first daughter. I chose LDS for my children because I knew they would experience cooperative learning with peers and socialization in an engaging environment, with high quality teachers who love what they do. I felt it was important to have a school environment for my children where they would be exposed to a wide variety of themes and topics. I especially loved the fact that even in the afternoon hours they were engaged in learning and enrichment exercises especially since we needed full time care. To this day I can recall the passport art work they created and took a “trip” to Hawaii with their afternoon enrichment teachers. I loved that the learning didn’t end at lunchtime. My favorite concept for our students is divergent thinking.
Our staff are trained in guiding our young learners to ways of challenging their idea of what they expect something to do or how something works “what about if you did this” or “tried it this way.” Fostering the love of learning and literacy along with character education and social/emotional readiness is what we do best here at LDS. We are thrilled to have you join us.
